When I wrote my previous entry about the possible outcome of things when GMA get booted out of office, I never expected how close I am on predicting that some regions of the nation might actually call for Independence if situation in the government becomes worse.

Muslims Asked To Back Call For Independence
COTABATO CITY-The Philippine Council for Islam and Democracy (PCID) Tuesday urged Muslims to support calls for Mindanao independence as a political alternative amid the wiretapping controversy and other issues hounding the Arroyo administration.
Amina Rasul, PCID chair, said the country's over 10 million Muslims have to take a stand amid the scandal, "lest they (the Manila government) forget to address the Mindanao problem."
Rasul said new calls for independence by local government officials of Davao and Ilocos signaled "desperation on the part of the people."
In a statement, the PCID said Muslim organizations and individuals should heed any serious call for an independent Mindanao.
"What has Mindanao been getting from being part of this country, anyway? Poor share of the fruits of national development? Social, economic and political instability?" Rasul asked.
But Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said Mindanao should only declare independence if anarchy rules in the capital.
Duterte, President Macapagal-Arroyo's anti-terror adviser, said he would take action when necessary, adding that "we are not ready to talk about it yet because the conditions are not yet ripe."
Last week, Duterte met with former Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez and discussed calls for the establishment of a Mindanao republic.
Contrary to calls by Ms Arroyo's other allies and critics, Duterte said the President should just keep quiet on the "Hello Garci" tapes.
"She should not answer it," Duterte said.
He said the President's critics would only find more issues to confront her with once she answers allegations that she worked with Election Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano to ensure her victory during the elections.
"All the issues are manufactured by them, so why will she answer? Let them prove their case," Duterte said.
