"the driver of the ill-fated Byron Bus liner, bearing the body mark 198, apparently lost control of the vehicle when it hit a wall along Barangay (village) Badiwan, said Vicente Tomazar, Cordillera director of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
The bus was headed out of Baguio but Tomazar could not say what its final destination was. The Byron Bus line services routes to Dagupan City and other parts of Pangasinan province. Tomazar said the bus' roof broke off due to the impact and many passengers died when they were thrown out of the vehicle."

The news just struck me.
I was perhaps taking my english assessment examination at Convergys when it happened. Somewhere near Baguio, a Byron Bus smashed on a landslide protection wall along the highway, its impact so hard and determined to throw out most of its passengers and leaving the rest mutilated and disgorged beyond recognition.
It never reached me yesterday, for I was busy with playing Black and White in my PC. But when I saw it in the news this evening, my heart simply fell off.
The news featured scores of bodies being piled up in the highway - the remains of those whose bodies were thrown out of the bus as it reeled from the impact of the collision. The news also showed a group of families wailing at a funeral house in Baguio: an old woman calling a family member abroad telling him that his wife and kid is already dead; a body of a young boy, its upper body covered by a pink towel. It was revealed later in the news clip that its was a headless body of a boy, its head was still missing as of the interview.
These are the kind of news that makes you feel that you're vulnerable; that one of your families members or loved ones might be the one of those casualties there instead of someone else. When these things happen, when you heard from the news that someone died of a senseless and swift death, you begin to ask yourself why these things should happen?
If ever I'm gonna die, or some of my loved ones and friends, I don't want them to suffer such death. It just feel so inhuman to leave your body just like that - a heap of mutilated body parts, partially burned or dusted as it rolled off, or being crushed from the steel body frame of the bus contracting altogether...
Sometimes, these things simply make you upset, especially if you found out that there's violence everywhere - mediamen being killed mercilessly by their assailants, publishers of weekly newspapers in the provinces being held up by these corrupt bureaucrats who run the countryside, and news of murders and robbery, and even rotting infants being found in a jar or shoebox flushed out from their mother's womb being splashed in the tabloids everyday.
With these things happening all at the same time, you ask yourself
it there more to life than these things?

The relatively huge sum of money I lent to the company has not been returned to me yet.
This would create problems since it was my remaining cash in my bank. I asked the security agency (that transfers my dad's salary to my account) if they would start paying for the salaries tomorrow. The finance officer said that they had some problems with the available cash on their bank, so payday would be on Monday instead of tomorrow.
So from Friday to Monday, I am completely broke. It never happened to me before, and sad to say, it would never have been... If I was strong enough to tell them that I don't have cash anymore.
But I love my dad's company, even if it really is a pain-in-the-ass.
And this is what I get. For a moment, I felt how to be penniless.
Good thing though, nobody knows that I have a secret account.
